Meat is on the Ground

Trey and Drew we're successful on their hunt!

In other news Paige and I braved Thursday evening shopping at Wal-Mart. We went, we saw, we ain't ever going back!  We didn't spend a dime-who has time for those lines unless you got one of everything on sale- and we didn't get there in time for any sale!

Thanksgiving

I have so much to be thankful for!  My faith, family, friends to name a few.

We made the road trip out to Crockett Texas to spend Thanksgiving with the Cockrells.  The rainy weather at the beginning has been replaced with gorgeous weather.  The stomach bugs we had last week are behind us.  A couple more days of rest and relaxation before the 1049 mile road trip home.

My two favorite turkeys!

A little Halloween before Thanksgiving

Life is busy in the small little town of Chesterfield!  As Trey says "this is the new normal".  In an attempt to be prepared I made 400 treat bags for Halloween and had another 300+ pieces of candy for trick or treaters.  EPIC FAIL!

400 bags were gone in less than an HOUR!!!  Caleb was sent for backup...when the last piece if candy was handed out we turned off the lights and hid- half an hour before Trick or Treating was scheduled to end!

The church three doors down counted in excess if 900 kids.  Ain't nobody got time for that-I'm debating turning the sprinklers on next year and leaving town!

Meanwhile Peter Pan and Captain Hook had a blast.

Tea PARTY

Drew and Jac were invited to celebrate Scarlett's second birthday.  They had a blast.  Pink sand is quite the hit with boys--as well as play houses!

The dessert table was made by Sharon Dutton who also made Drew's pirate cake.  There were tea cups--they are in the back corner of the photo.  I could have eaten the entire table--but I only ate one oreo ball. YUM!

Handsome blue eyed boy!

Pink sand!

Bye Bye Baby

My baby boy is growing up!  He shows a little interest in potty training--but I'm not pushing it.  If he's trained before turning 3 it's a massive improvement on big brother!  The one thing about him getting older that makes me sad--is that he's not my baby anymore.   I had to throw out my diaper bag.  I LOVED this diaper bag.  I'm not great at splurging--call me cheap--and I'm trying to get better.  This awesome diaper bag made it 27 months.  With Drew I was probably on the third diaper bag at that point in time.  I highly recommend this diaper bag.  My sister in law had one--and I knew I wanted one when I saw it.  I got mine at Nordstrom and still don't regret the sticker price.

The signs that it was time to go:

Rip in the fabric

Worn out straps

Button fell off of the flower.

Stains all over

I'm not replacing the bag.  In keeping with my roots--I got big brother a new bookbag for school--so baby boy gets the hand me down.  (I'm trying....)

Splash Pad Fun

Drew and Jac have had a great summer!  Hartsville is only a thirty minute drive and they've opened a Splash Pad.   Fun Fun Fun!

And yes, we did happen to be the first family to ask the famous question "how much does it cost to replace my pass for the season"?

Summer

Drew finished up the school year on Wednesday.  I haven't made big plans for him-we'll just go with the flow for now!  I do think he's going to baseball camp and bible school next week-but other than that hopefully there will be lots of this:

Drew's Fifth Birthday

Drew has been talking about his "birthday party" since October.  This year I finally broke down put on my big girl panties and had a party for him.

No party is complete without the bouncy house!  We had walk the plank and digging for buried treasure to round out the entertainment.

Can we say best.cake.ever.  I need to do a separate post on the cake-everything was edible!

I took the easy way and kept the menu simple-subway sandwiches, vegetable tray, and cheese puffs.

The next day he started to talk about his sixth birthday party....Let's just say I was exhausted at the end of the day.  I've hosted parties--just not at my house--Can we say the day of the party we were running around like crazy getting everything together--even though I thought we were totally organized.  Let's just say for a party that started at 1--I got the boys in the bath and dressed by 12:35.  I was showered/getting dressed and the first guest arrived early---what?!?!?
