Thing 1 and Thing 2

I was able to get Thing 1 and Thing 2 in the same place at the same time wearing the same thing.

WEEEEEEEEEEEEEE

Trey and Drew went to the Concord Mills Mall one Saturday while Jac and I stayed home and napped.  This is what a three year old gets to do when he goes shopping with Daddy:

Drew loved every minute of this and screamed when he had to get off.  He has to Jump every time we go to the Mall now--but he doesn't scream anymore when his turn is over.

Thing 2

Thing 1 was still getting his beauty rest when these photos were taken.  Thing 2 had already been up for 2 1/2 hours, had a bottle, had a bath, and is in full play mode.

Hopefully Thing 1 and Thing 2 will cooperate this evening and we can get some photos of them together.  And of course my phone and camera were not readily available to capture the entire foot in the mouth shot moments later!

Monday Night Photos

Who needs Monday night football?!?!

Jac took a thirty minute nap to give himself some energy to go for an extra two hours....

Drew didn't want to be left out of the photo opportunity.

I've figured it all out

This is my problem----Body dysmorphic disorder--this is totally what I have.  My problem has nothing to do with still having 7 pounds to lose to reach my pre Jac weight; then another 18 pounds to lose to reach my pre Drew weight.
"Body dysmorphic disorder is a disease in which a person becomes obsessed with an imagined flaw in his or her appearance."

This solves all my issues--ha!!

Four Months

Yesterday Jac turned four months.  Where has the time gone?!?  These four months have flown by.   Life couldn't go on hold for a few months-so Jac just had to go with the flow.  He's gotten on a pretty decent schedule-we've had him sleeping from 6/7 at night until 6/7 in the morning since the beginning of August.  He takes his bottles about every three hours during the day.  I add oatmeal at night to fill him up for the evening.  He loves bottles of apple juice--this is something we never did with Drew!

When Drew came along he just had to adapt to our lives--we had him on the road within less than a month-Mother's Day in Charleston, Memorial Day in Beaufort for a wedding shower for Alan and Jess, June trip to Charleston for a shower for Alan and Jess, July trip to Houston and Crockett to visit the Cockrell's, July wedding of Alan and Jess.  Add in multiple trips to Lowe's due to home renovations--the kid was always on the go!

Now with Jac, we stay home.  Normally everyone does it the other way around--they stay home with number one and number two goes along for the ride.  Whatever works.

Trey and I are taking full advantage of having Rebecca's help.  We've taken a few nights to go out to dinner by ourselves--this is normally only something we've done when we've visited family  out of town and maybe one or two other nights we've had a babysitter for Drew.  It's amazing to eat a meal without holding a child, having someone's fingers in my food, being able to chew, etc, etc, etc.

It's only been three and one half years--but I've finally added pictures to the frames in the house.  Before we just had the special photo that came with the frame.  I'm still not the best at capturing the moments on film.

Potty Training 101

We've not even made it to Potty Training 101.  This is probably the hardest obstacle with Drew to overcome.  He has no interest in it. Zip. Zilch. None. Bribing does not work.  Toys. Trips. Food. NOTHING WORKS!!!
The days are running together with the dramatic events unfolding.  Friday night he had an upset stomach that led to runny poop all over the living room--Rebecca stayed late with the boys Friday night so Trey and I could go on a date--so she got the honors of the clean up.  Saturday was pretty uneventful until...He pooped in the kitchen construction zone--right by the back door--YUCK!!  I would have given him some points had he gone in the "new" bathroom (No fixtures--but I would have taken it as a step in the right direction to use the bathroom in a room that will be the bathroom).  Sunday was quiet.  First thing this morning we put him on the potty--with promises of a toy or a trip to Chuck E Cheese.  Nothing.  We left for work.  I went home midmorning to let Rebecca know the promises that had been made in case he used the bathroom.  Nothing.  Went home for lunch and somewhere between midmorning and lunch Drew had snuck behind the sofa and pooped in his pants.
NOTHING WORKS!!!  He's even started to say that he just wants to stay home when we tell him he can go to the beach/Monkey Joes/Chuck E Cheese/the Movies if he goes poop on the potty.
On a positive note, he is getting better with his aim so I no longer have to mop the bathroom multiple times a day.

Party all the Time

Both boys had a big weekend last weekend attending parties.  Our new next door neighbor turned three-Happy Birthday Cooper!

On a different note.  Potty training is wearing me down. Drew has always been a sneaky kid-but he's really testing my limits these days.  Here's a rundown on events: Monday Drew smeared poop all over the upstairs bathroom--Mrs. Rebecca got the honors of cleaning up the mess.  Tuesday night a drawer was left open in the downstairs bedroom--this became Drew's new place to urinate.  Doesn't everyone peepee on the furniture?  Wednesday night we got Gold Bond powder sprinkled all over the upstairs landing followed by urination all over the Thomas the Train set.  (There will have to be a whole new post on Drew emptying products in the house...)This morning we came upstairs to Drew using the bathroom in the bathroom but on the floor.  He knows what he's doing----why won't he do it in the potty?!?!?!?!

My First Party

Mom took me to my first party on Sunday.  It was a baby shower for Melissa and Robert Griggs.  I had to be on my best behavior because this could be my future girlfriend.  I was a big hit!
