Happy Halloween

I ordered Drew's costume off of Etsy this year.  Since it's officially the last year that I could dictate what he wears on Halloween I wanted him to be cute!  We headed to the White's Pumpkin Patch on Sunday to pick out our pumpkins.

We'll be heading to Houston for Halloween this year.  We're going to the Texas A&M-Texas Tech game on Saturday.  On Sunday Trey's parents church has a big Halloween Extravaganza that we're looking forward to attending.

Myrtle Beach Days

Trey's parents came to visit in August and we headed to Myrtle Beach one afternoon.  Drew was not happy that we forgot his bathing suit!

Pool Party

On one miserably hot Sunday we headed to Wal-Mart to purchase a pool.  Drew had a big time playing in the pool.  Unfortunately our backyard doesn't have a good flat area, so the pool was always lopsided. You can't have a good photo album of your child without the fabulous naked pictures...

Birthday Ride

We headed to Myrtle Beach for the day on Drew's second birthday.  I know--I'm a bad mom because I haven't thrown a BIG BASH for my child...Last year his birthday fell right at Easter time so we celebrated his birthday on Easter Sunday with all of my family.  This year we had headed to Texas and had a birthday party for Drew with Trey's Family as well as we headed to Beaufort and had a birthday party for Drew with my parents and my aunt and uncle visiting from Oregon. Myrtle Beach is a little over an hour and a half drive for us.  We loaded up in the car--made a stop at Dunkin Donuts along the way--Drew has loved doughnuts since he was ten months old.  (Not a normal food to feed to a ten month old-I know--but he really wanted one and he really liked it).  Here's a photo of him in doughnut heaven last year around his birthday.
So back to his birthday this year...Trey is a sucker for letting Drew ride these silly rides--at Walmart, at the mall, see Chuck E Cheese post below...What joy on my baby boy's face. I love you Drew!

Chuck-E-Cheese

Where a kid can be a kid! (And Dad's too!!!) Trey has been driving me insane wanting to go to Chuck E Cheese.  So, back in March I sent him and Drew with a mission to purchase a laptop at Best Buy and go to dinner.  Little did I know, Trey decided that they would go to Chuck E Cheese.  Drew had a blast--he was still awake at 10 o'clock p.m. when they arrived at home...

Since that evening we have gone two additional times...The first was a great Family experience--I loved playing Deal or No Deal.  The second was a not so great Family experience-too many people on a Saturday night. We left as soon as we got there--with Drew crying the whole way out the door.

Summertime

This summer has been fabulous!  We've been to Lake Wateree one day for a great afternoon on the lake.  We were able to visit with Trey's cousins at Lake Norman for a nice four day Fourth of July holiday weekend.  Drew and I were suppose to be in Charleston for a week with my cousins, but the trip got cut short due to canceled airlines.  Drew got to spend part of a week in Beaufort with my parents. The weather has been hot-so it's been hard to want to be outside.  Our Sunday School class had a pool party this past Sunday.  Drew had a great time--he's not scared of the water at all!  I wanted to get him swimming lessons this summer, it just never happened.  We're heading to Beaufort tomorrow for a wedding and then Trey's parents will be here next week for a visit.  The house and office are coming together with the renovations almost complete-hurray!

We might even try to go to Lake Norman for Labor Day weekend--one last summer treat.  And we have a busy fall planned with football tailgating!

June 28

Hello out there if I have any readers!  I had BIG ambitions when I started this blog...I haven't met any of my goals but I'm working on it.  June has been hot!  It's hard to do anything except stand in front of an air conditioning vent. (ha!)
The house is coming together and we've started the work at the office.  Hoping to post some photos tomorrow that I found on Trey's phone,

Memorial Day Weekend

This weekend was the first weekend in a long time that we had to ourselves---it was wonderful!  Saturday we headed to Lake Wateree for the day.  We had rented a pontoon boat twice last summer-once at Lake Marion in Santee and the second time at Lake Norman in Charlotte--and had a blast.  This was my belated Mother's Day wish--it was too cold on Mother's Day to be on the water.  Lake Wateree is about an hour west of Chesterfield.  We stopped at the Piggly Wiggly in Camden on the way to pick up some snacks.  Lately we can't get out of a store without Drew already eating something in the cart--oh well, at least we pay for the food!  There were storms throughout the holiday weekend--but luckily we had a clear day until about 4.  Drew had a blast!  He loves the water.  He doesn't love his life jacket but I won't take any chances.  We all had a relaxing fun day on the water.  Only Trey got a sun burn.  Looking forward to the summer ahead!

Strawberry Festival

We took the photos as proof that we attended the McLeod Farms Strawberry Festival on Saturday in McBee.  Drew was too little to do the rides, so we didn't stay long to avoid a meltdown.  (And when I say too little--the big kids pounce on him in the jump castle...)

Sunday night we went to the movie night at church.  They were showing Disney's Up.  I'm sure I would have loved the movie but Drew's attention span only got through the first fifteen-thirty minutes.  Then I got to follow him as he ran around.  Our church has a ramp that Drew thinks is great to run up and down like a million times...

Let the work week begin!

Dirty Boy

Drew loves to be outside.  I am thankful for this even when the bugs are biting.  Yesterday the torn up driveway was a big hit!  He brought home an extra 10 pounds of dirt.

P.S. We're saving TONS of money on construction costs--Drew fixes everything once he gets home from school!
