Schools out for Summer

It's been a little hectic since Drew started school.  We had to quickly snap into a routine for the first time in over a year.  It was difficult to get the reading, bath, bedtime routine completed before 8---who's kidding--before 9!  Waking up at 7 and being out of the house by 7:30 was its own set of challenges.  Can I just point out that on the first day of summer---asleep by 9 and awake by 7--no struggles---as Drew would say "Whatever"!

Some highlights from the past few months:

Linsey watched the boys a few days and send me some photos during the day.  I LOVE smart phones!

Drew went to Myrtle Beach with Linsey for Spring Break.  He had a blast.  I hated that we couldn't take a few days off to do a family trip--better planning for next year.

Drew and Jac both had birthdays!  We still haven't done the party thing.  A little too overwhelming for me.  For Drew's birthday we got him a trampoline.  For Jac's birthday we took the boys to Myrtle Beach.

I ran my first half marathon since 2007!

Jac is walking.  We've let go of the bottle.  Still attached to the pacifier. Jac got his first haircut.

We were suppose to go to Arkansas with the boys this weekend for Trey to fish with his dad.  Work got in the way--so the plans are canceled.  Work getting in the way has been a recurring theme in the Cockrell Home for the past year.  Praise God we have work! (but sometimes the canceled plans make me bummed. 

Trey and I are heading to Chicago in late July for the AAJ Conference.  This will be our first big trip since the AAJ Conference in Hawaii in January 2009.  The boys will be in Beaufort with my parents.  We're hoping to have a trip to Crockett this summer.  Time will tell....

On The Border

Last Monday night we headed to Concord to see the fish at Bass Pro Shop and have dinner at On The Border.  Jac has reached two exciting milestones-1. he'll sit in a highchair 2. he'll munch on table food.

Drew has a new obsession--watching Thomas the Tank Engine on YouTube on my cell phone. So if you can't reach me--you now know why!

Plumbing Issue

We were having a major plumbing issue, but, I think we've solved the problem!

Linsey and the Boys

Linsey is braver than Mommy.  She took BOTH boys to the Japanese restaurant.

On a later date she took both boys to MCDONALDS!!!

Just for the record---I haven't taken both boys on a walk down the street-ha!  I'm still too scared:)

More Photos From Drew

I have to ask Drew daily where my phone is.  He has a new love for You Tube.  Pray for me that he doesn't see anything creepy on the Internet...He likes to be by himself to watch his Thomas and Dora.

We went to Table Rock at the end of the July with the ATL Smith's.  I took a nap while the boys were goofing off....

McKenzie won a stuffed animal out of the machine---ten thousand quarters later of course:) I kept reassuring Drew that we had the same stuffed animal at the house--here is Jac proudly displaying the Bear.
